Kobe Bryant and Daughter Gianna Laid to Rest (private ceremony) 2 Weeks After Tragic Helicopter Crash

Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna “Gigi” Bryant have been laid to rest. According to E! News, a funeral service was held for the NBA legend and his young daughter on February 7, at the Pacific View Mortuary in Corona Del Mar, California. No additional details about the ceremony have been released at the time. Kobe, who was 40-years-old at the time of his death, and Gianna, along with seven others tragically lost their lives after a helicopter crash on January 26.

"Vanessa and the family wanted a private service to mourn their loss," a source tells ET. "The ceremony was extremely hard for everyone as it's still hard for them to grasp they lost two beautiful souls."

In addition to the private funeral, a public memorial will be held for Kobe and Gianna on Monday, Feb. 24 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where the athlete played professional basketball with the Lakers for the entirety of his 20-year career. "24" is a special date, as it's the number Kobe sported on his journey since the 2006-07 season.
