Cabo San Lucas: Crew member with symptoms of coronavirus is removed from the ship

In the port of Cabo San Lucas, a woman from the crew of the ship Oosterdam, which is in the bay with no passengers, was taken to the dock to receive medical attention in a hospital, because she has symptoms of covid-19.

On Sunday, the port authorities were given notice to arrange for the transfer of this crew member with all possible medical care.

The Holland America ship Oosterdam has been in Cabo San Lucas with its 700 crew members since March 17.

Humanitarian attention has been given to its staff who remain at a distance of 2.5 nautical miles, because the ports of the state of California are saturated.

Another Holland America ship, the Westerdam, is in the bay of La Paz. Yesterday, two of its crew members were transferred to hospitals. One was injured by a fall and a woman who presented a possible appendicitis.

Both ships had been certified free of the covid-19 by health authorities in the state of Jalisco.
