Yuma Sector Agents Arrest Man with Multiple Weapons, Drugs and Cash



YUMA, Ariz. –U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Interstate 8 Immigration Checkpoint arrested a U.S. citizen Wednesday, who was in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, hashish, bulk cash, and multiple firearms in his vehicle.



Agents referred a 2013 Subaru Outback to the secondary inspection area due to a Border Patrol canine alert. After further investigation, agents discovered packages of methamphetamine, hashish and marijuana hidden in the trunk. A pistol was also recovered from the passenger floorboard, as well as a shotgun in the trunk and a large amount of currency.

The male driver, a 38-year-old U.S. citizen, was arrested and turned over to the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force for prosecution. The narcotics, money, guns and vehicle were seized.
