Genevieve: Los Cabos Beaches Ordered Closed!

In order not to put people's lives at risk, the Municipal Council of Civil Protection, headed by Los Cabos Mayor Armida Castro Guzman, determined the total closure of beaches until further notice due to strong currents and high waves generated by the approach of Hurricane Genevieve, so through the Federal Maritime-Terrestrial Zone (ZOFEMAT), the black flags prohibiting any water activity were placed.

Without being considered of great danger for Los Cabos, Genevieve of category 4 of the Saffir-Simpson scale, already shows part of its power with which it moves through the Pacific Ocean at 485 kilometers to the south-southeast of the peninsula.

The general coordinator of the ZOFEMAT Los Cabos, Javier Ontiveros Fabian, reported that this afternoon lifeguards managed to rescue swimmers dragged by the sea currents on El Chileno and Santa María beaches. That is why the decision was taken to close all the beaches.
