Hospital IMSS Los Cabos in maximum capacity coronavirus patients

As part of its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the government of Mexico recently instituted a weekly traffic-light monitoring system and Baja California Sur now is in red.

Although the federal government says it is red, the state health committee with full autonomy says that Baja California Sur is in orange, with the highest concentration of covid-19 cases in La Paz (189 deaths) and Los Cabos (139).

An outbreak of the pandemic has occurred in the offices of the Los Cabos municipal government, which sent a city councilor to the hospital, and another is isolated in his home.

The municipal health manager, Dr. Adan Monroy, says that we are reaching the limit of the capacity of the hospitals that cannot give attention to so many patients with coronavirus. He recalls that the IMSS hospital in Cabo San Lucas reached a maximum of 110 percent occupancy.
