Earthquake in Gulf of California felt in Loreto and Mulege


At 5:10 PM today, residents of the American communities of Loreto and Mulege reported that an earthquake was sensed.


Within minutes, the Mexican earthquake information system posted on its website that a 4.9 magnitude earthquake had occurred in the Gulf of California.


The epicenter was located 60.2 miles north of Loreto with a depth of 8.03 miles.


No material damage was reported as a result of this earthquake.
