LAPD Officer Sentenced for Falsely Submitting Timesheets

A Los Angeles police officer was sentenced today for receiving more than $8,000 in wages for work she did not perform in 2018, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Monica Renee Moore (dob 3/2/72) was sentenced to summary probation for three years and ordered to complete 20 days of CalTrans work. Moore paid $8,543 in restitution and also must resign from the Los Angeles Police Department.

On July 31, she pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of grand theft.

Deputy District Attorney Saeed Teymouri of the Justice System Integrity Division prosecuted the case.

Between April and October 2018, Moore falsely reported she was at work 18 times. She received $8,543 in compensation for those days, the prosecutor said.

Case BA478090 was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
