Los Cabos: Yes, we had an quake event!


Early this morning, residents of the towns of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo were jolted to their feet by a surprise quake that lasted at least four seconds.

According to accounts of the experience by residents of the southern part of the municipality, reported on Facebook, the quake was felt in a trepidatory manner in waves moving from east to west.

At the time of this writing, no material damage is reported, but only remains as a topic of conversation.

The National Seismological Service reports that earthquake occurred at 1:48 AM, had a magnitude of 4.3, with an epicenter 19 kilometers northeast of San Jose del Cabo in an area known as Palo Escopeta, very close to the coast of the Gulf of California.

Reporters made a tour through several streets of San Jose del Cabo, minutes after the tremor. There was nothing serious to report.
