Infections decrease in La Paz and Los Cabos!

The State Committee for Health Security voted unanimously for Los Cabos and La Paz to advance to level two (low yellow) of the Health Alert System (SAS) for Covid-19 from September 2 to 8. It also determined that Mulege will move to level four (low orange) during this same period and that the municipalities of Comondu and Loreto will remain at level 5 (strong orange).

These decisions were made based on the analysis of various epidemiological indicators that are currently present in Baja California Sur, said the Secretary of Health, Victor George Flores after concluding the 118th session of the committee held this Wednesday by videoconference.

The state official stressed that Los Cabos and La Paz went from level 3 to level 2 of the SAS due to a sustained reduction in the speed of transmission of the virus.

In general, the state rate of incidence of active cases, which is 97.68 per 100,000 inhabitants, presented a 22 percent decrease compared to last week, but it was decided in a collegiate manner that the northern municipalities remain at more restrictive levels, in order to strengthen the development of preventive actions that consolidate their downward trends, he added.
