Lowest numbers in Los Cabos since pandemic began

A notorious decrease has been observed in the number of infections, hospitalizations and deaths due to the coronavirus pandemic in the municipality of Los Cabos.

This encouraging news was announced today, at the end of the COVID-19 follow-up and analysis bureau in this municipality, by the president of the Businessmen's Council, Julio Castillo Gomez, who said that this is not a reason to lower our guard, but to continue with the basic sanitary measures.

He revealed that in the whole municipality there are 12 people hospitalized, nine in public hospitals and three in private ones, which gives a total of 3 percent occupancy, the lowest level in this sustained and historical streak.

Other data released, continued Castillo Gomez, is that the rate of contagions has dropped notoriously and today it was reported that there are 48 in the whole municipality, which means that there are now 12 days below 100.

The same is true for fatalities, which have dropped significantly in the last 15 days, with 7 unfortunate deaths. Not to forget that in June there were up to 12 deaths per day.

Julio Castillo Gomez added that in Los Cabos 75 percent of the population over 18 years of age has already been vaccinated, at least with one dose, something extraordinary.

He called on us not to neglect ourselves. "This result is the result of the discipline and combined efforts of everyone, the health sector and society in general".

On the other hand, he also informed that in spite of being in low season, this summer has been one of the best for the tourist sector with high occupancy in hotels.
