Another film will be shot in Los Cabos!

In support of new talent from Baja California Sur, the Municipal Government will support the mobility of the production team of the film "Cuando el destino nos alcance", which begins shooting in Los Cabos on May 10 and will continue throughout the rest of the state until May 30, 2022.

To follow up on this request, instructions were given to the Institute of Culture (ICA) to provide the production team with transportation, food and lodging facilities.

In this regard, the film director, Francisco Rafael Gomez Avila and the producer, Jose Manuel Mercado, informed that this 85-minute movie includes underwater shots of humpback whales in their breeding season, captured behind the Cabo San Lucas arch and in Cabo del Este; as well as locations with landscapes of the region and places that have not previously been presented in cinemas.

They also announced that this proposal will be the first film produced entirely by local talents, with the participation of 25 people, 7 of them for acting and the rest for production; the premiere is expected to take place during the Los Cabos International Film Festival, which tentatively will be held in November 2022.

Finally, they explained that the story of the feature film is about a group of young people living in a post-apocalyptic world, in which they must face their own fears and flee from a phenomenon that causes humanity to become extinct, which alludes to the processes currently experienced by the youth, since it is simply a metaphor that encourages them to leave their comfort zone to realize their dreams, goals, ambitions and desires, with all the difficulties that this path implies.
