La Paz at a plateau and in Los Cabos cases in decline!

In a session of the State Health Safety Committee, after the analysis of the pandemic in Baja California Sur during the last week, its members approved that, from July 22 to 28, the entire mid-peninsula will remain at level 5 Critical of the New Health Alert System.

"Although cases have decreased in some municipalities, it is not the time to lower our guard, but neither is it the time to be more restrictive; we must be conservative, the numbers are being given, so we suggest that Baja California Sur remain at level 5", commented Victor George Flores, head of the State Health Secretariat, who presided over the virtual meeting.

During the session, it was highlighted that La Paz presents a plateau in terms of new cases and that Los Cabos also registers a slight decrease in the number of infections; however, Loreto reports an increase in positive cases.

Likewise, the numbers of hospitalizations and deaths due to the disease have stabilized and, without this meaning an advance victory, the statistics and trends show a decrease in active cases and infections for the next few weeks.

In the meantime, vaccination of young people over 18 years of age continues in La Paz, once they concluded in Los Cabos. Next week it will be the turn of the northern part of the state.
